There’s this flu bug going around… I’ve bumped into ex-classmates who are sneezing non-stop, colleagues that keep apologising for sneezing or coughing in your face, relatives that can’t turn up for family gatherings because they’re sick.

Is it Singapore’s climate? Is it because January is especially ‘cold’ in Singapore? Or is there some kind of evil flu virus lurking around?! And to think I just took the flu vaccine a few months ago! I WANT MY MONEY BACK! Paid $28 for the vaccine and I still catch the stupid flu bug around!

So it begs the question, does the flu vaccine work? My doctor told me that it’s not 100% prevention from flu… but from the way I see it, I caught the first flu bug that flew into my nose and the vaccine did not work.

I’ve came across yet another blog advertisement website and this company seems to be quite good. The website is very simple and pleasing to the eyes, and I think the concept of this blog for money site Smorty, is similar to sponseredreview and payperpost.

What these companies do is attract advertisers to pay bloggers to review or advertise their websites and products, and companies like Smorty link these advertisers to bloggers - of course getting a commission from it.

Blog Advertising - Get Paid to Blog

What’s so great about these services is, we can blog about what we like and just recommend a few websites once in a while to get money! Easy! However, some people may argue that advertising in blogs might affect the integrity of the blog since the content is paid for. True - but bloggers have the discretion to chose the advertisers they like to endorse.

I think the best part about signing up for blog for money programs is you get paid for what you enjoy doing - blogging.

It’s difficult to be an entrepreneur, but many people want to set up their own businesses. To set up a business, one would need capital. My friends were discussing the other day that they wanted to franchise KrispyKreme the famous donuts shop. Apparently, you’ll need at least one million dollars capital to apply for the franchise!

Well, there are companies out there that offers small business loans. After looking through what some small business loans company offers, it is important to get loans fast and quick approval. Also, you should look for companies that requires no application fee. For those people that want to set up their business with the least hassles, AFSLoans offers low interest rates and does not require you to submit documents regarding your income.

Good luck to those adventurous entrepreneur out there and make sure you chose wisely for the right small business loans company and make sure that they don’t have any hidden charges!

I’ve recently encountered two ladies that I had to lias with for business. They seem so nice and friendly and helpful at first. Then they started to tell me half-truths and misleading information, which could jeopardize the business plans. I was ****ing pissed off with them.

They’re from City harvest Church.

Seriously, if your job require you to lie through your teeth to do business, don’t tell people which church you’re from! Now I have the impression that City harvest Church people are all lying, misleading, annoying, irritating people - may be they are. I’m sorry for stereotyping, but if you think your business dealings would require you to do things against your religion (i.e. purposely lying to others), THEN DON’T TELL PEOPLE WHAT CHURCH YOU ARE FROM. Infidels.

Seems like taxi driver is a good and promising job

Pros of being Taxi driver:
Flexible working days and times
No education needed
Good money

Cons of being Taxi driver:
not stable income (some days you barely cover rental)
stressful (eyes on the road the whole day requires a lot of concentration)
being accused of taxi stereotypes

While some cabbies have complained that passengers are not flagging taxis, Mr Lim said their earnings have however gone up.
Based on figures provided by ComfortDelGro, Singapore’s biggest taxi operator, cabbies are pocketing about $11 more a day, earning about $318.

This particular text seems to be quoted in a few blogs already (SGFRAG , DK, simplyjean etc.). Is being a taxi driver really so good life? I’ve heard stories of ex-lawyers and engineers becoming taxi driver because the pay is good and it’s a lifestyle change. (more…)

January 22, 2008Let’s play slots

I think I’m hooked to playing online slots sloterix. I’ve been surfing so many slots website lately and so far I’ve only been reviewing those which seem secure, nice design, and fun! Of course there are so many online slots website out there and so we have a higher standard of choosing a comfortable site to playcasino slots sloterix.

Of course, I will not spend what I can’t afford just to play slots sloterix, and YOU shouldn’t too, however playing slots can be a good way to relief stress and just have some fun. When I look at the jackpot figures on the website, I always think to myself “when will I hit the FIVE MILLION dollars” :(

You know now search engine, marketing, money are all lumped in one big category. All the buzz about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and online advertising and Web 2.0, I don’t think us end users can keep up with all these terms.

I read on Geeksg.com that A*star was came up with a competition “The Star Challenge 2008″ to develop “a rich media search engine that will be smart enough to identify text, audio and video containing any word, even if that word, or search term, has not yet been tagged in the internet material”. I have to give them credit for coming up with this competition even though some are quite skeptical if this race will contribute to the current research.

What’s more surprising to me is when I took a look carefully at the website which I read this news - Geeksg.com . Honestly, more “geeks” in Singapore are just your average techies.

Techie - Wikipedia

Techie is a term, derivative of the word technology, for a person who displays a great, sometimes even obsessive, interest in technology, as well as high-tech devices, particularly computers.

Geeks or nerds are often also considered to be techies; however, the reverse is not necessarily true and more people who would not be considered “geeks” are becoming techies, especially with the advancement of technology in recent years.

See, I can consider myself a Techie which sounds wayy cooler than being labelled a geek. Although deep inside, I’m a geek :\

That PRC guy was at fault by creating a flaming thread HOWEVER, the response given by us Singaporeans may have just proved his point.

1. Hey give that guy some credits. Most of our forefathers ARE from China.

2. I guess most people don’t believe in blood lines and surnames anymore, otherwise they would not be making comments like “My forefather from China, but I’m not from China”. Which is true, but your heritage is afterall from China.

3. People telling the China man to type/speak better English. … scroll down the pages and you will see 10 times as many Singaporeans that cannot spell or type at all. I had to squint to read some of the responses.

4. Us Chinese did take over Singapore. Infact, we’re slowly taking over majority of Asia. Just look at the richest people in the world… many of them Chinese.

I was talking to Misscel and Princessa the other day on MSN and we were talking about online chat rooms and meeting up with people from chat rooms. Misscel then mentioned that she never met anyone she spoke to online before. Princessa corrected her because they have been to the Singapore Slingers events where they actually met other online bloggers. To be honest, I have actually dated gals I met from the online chat rooms before.. but that was like 5 years ago.

I guess for us, chatting online have become a part of our daily lives. There are also many platforms in which you can chat online, like the Wireclub which offers free chat rooms. If you’re a couch potato, the only way to have a bigger social network is through making friends online. Wireclub offers free online chat rooms with cool functions such as creating and joining chat rooms that you like. You can chat with your friends online or even meet new people from the same country as you!

There are also many different clubs for different interest groups to meet and gather and just chat about what you love. If you’re bored in the office, at home, or if you want to find a girlfriend or boyfriend… ;)

For those people curious how to WHOIS someone’s domain name, you can just go to sites like http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp and type in the domain name you’re kaypo about… then WALA! it’s done.

Unfortunately, especially since I’m not an advocate of stalking people, I don’t feel this that domain names being public records are right. To get it privatized like Pamela, you need to pay money I think.

For example, I once had a female friend who’s boyfriend was crazy and obsessed with her. She changed her handphone number because that crazy dude was pestering her. Lo and behold, he called one of the Singapore telephone directories and asked for her full name and they managed to give him her latest handphone number.

I’m not sure if that crazy stalker ex-boyfriend was telling the truth when he claimed to have gotten her new handphone number from a telephone directory, but if that’s the case, I feel giving out people’s private number without consent is completely ridiculous. In the same way, anyone in the world having access to information regarding the domain name’s owner including their mailing address and other private informations.. is just creepy.
